Painter of Moments
A friend once called me a momentukininkė — a made-up Lithuanian word for a collector of moments. My portraits preserve fleeting expressions, quiet glances, and the feeling of being close to someone.
These are portraits of my family and friends. Each carries memories of the time we spent together and the conversations around it. My mother encouraged me to draw faces when I was thirteen; what once felt impossible has become the most personal part of my work.
From early studies to the works made in Korea, these portraits trace my changing approach to the people I know best.
In Korea, I returned to oil pastels and began working with acrylics on canvas board, painting portraits of my friends and parents.
Before moving to Korea, I drew my grandparents. These remain some of my most personal portraits.
